Provoking the Silence, Hi-definition digital video, 2017

Is a common ground for communication and interaction possible when two beings are trapped in a space? Is there a way of escape?

Provoking The Silence draws on some intense personal experiences and sets out to the test the very limits of human resilience, using performative video art.

An attempt to converse with one-another, using the body as a medium to understand, speak and interpret the body’s language through movement and gestures is explored within this intense work.

Trapped within a confined space there is a struggle to come to terms with the surroundings. As bodies collide, dance acts as a platform for not only communication but as a form of expression.

The masks are a way of stripping one’s identity, in order to fully immerse the performers into the characters of Provoking The Silence
