Chicken feet, seen as a delicacy in many cultures has always been something Aneesha has been fascinated by. The textures, forms, layering and the different cooking stages it goes through for example- boiling, freezing, frying is represented in the work about.

Preserved is simply and observation of the way a subject matter changes when it is put in different environments, painted in a style that would bring out the beauty of the 'chicken feet' that is commonly seen as disturbing or unappealing to the eye.

Cafe hopping is seen as a popular way for locals to interact with one another in Singapore. Cafes are always buzzing, filled with chatter and a lively ambience but have we ever noticed the times before or after the cafes are open?

A certain sense of loneliness, eeriness and reminiscence of what is left after the customers leave the space is what the paintings try to observe. The contrast between the warm and cool tones are used to create a desolate atmosphere and to showcase another way of perceiving these spaces.
